Week 8

Ok so week 8 started with Saturday night just catching up and sinking a few beers with a few mates from primary school because one of them had just turned 21. It was a good night and i was so glad to be drinking for once, driving places has its downsides even though its cheeper. Oh yeah and as a proper celebration a lot of us are going into town this friday for dinner and find somewhere to party for my mates 21st.

Ok well monday we had an IE studio which for once i wore my suit to instead of brining it in a bag, which shocked a couple of people. After the IE studio our team had a client meeting which got a lot of questions answered for us so we now have a lot more detail with which we can work with.

On wednesday i had programming due which i have been neglecting quite badly so i decided to skip it and hopefully get it done by next week and ill try the sick card next week but i doubt that will work and i dont mind either its only a couple of marks. After i got home from uni i went to karate which i have been very lazy with lately but im really glad i went because we did sparring for once which we havent done for a while and something ive been missing and i believe the source of my lazyness.

Thursday was another boring SYS INT leture althoug i paid a fair bt of attention in this one compared to prevous weeks. Oh yeah and i really hate that a lecturer can call an assignment the 70% of the students failed "written very clearly" im sorry but not if 70% of students failed can something be called written very clearly, so yeah that involves resubmission on monday. On another note the class was interesting if just for the simple fact that it was frustrating. I really hate making a big deal of things but when it annoys me this much i do have to vent at least a little. Lets just say that i wish people that dont have things they need to complete work dont join other groups and force members of that group out, and stop them from getting a word in anywhere. (Thats going to come back and bite me im sure). Anyway thursday was not completly a bad day i had a really good night at the Nott so i guess in all im pretty happy, and with a big night planned for tonight the weekend should only get better.

Well heres to a good friday night and the rest of the weekend, heres hoping i dont fail the resubmission for SYS INT that is due monday.

Week 7

Week 7 brought me one really boring weekend since my last blog. I have no idea why but i just didn't do anything except catch up on a little sleep. Anyway once the weekend was over it was Monday and a tour of our clients offices and a whole team meeting with our contacts was in order. It just so happened that i stuck to my previous style for all these meetings and bought my suit to uni with me, and being the only one that wasn't wearing my suit i stood out quiet easily I'm thinking i will probably do something about that before the next meeting (i mean it wasn't that bad catching buses home in my suit it shouldn't be too bad getting to uni).

The next interesting part of my week was on Wednesday and ill start with programming. Each class we have some work due i and then get the next weeks work, all i do is turn up get y work marked and leave, this week i had to cop a lecture basically about I'm dong it wrong because it i'nst the way i need to do it to do next weeks work, i didn't even know what next weeks work was yet. It annoyed me so much, and there was no point for it when i read the spec i knew things would need to change to get next weeks work i don't need a lecture saying "you've done this all wrong" well no its not wrong if it meets the specs that are required for this week.
Anyway the actually fun part of Wednesday was later in the evening when all the IE students gathered with clients and academics further up the ladder then normally meet as a mere student. I don't think i spent enough time meeting other clients and senior academics as i should have, although i still did enjoy the night.

On Thursday i ran into an old friend who i haven't seen in a few years, due to his joining the army, while i was picking another mate up for the trip to the Nott. It was completely unexpected to see him but it was a really good start to a Thursday night at the Nott, a night that kept getting better because one of my close friends had turned 21 the previous day so there was a lot of people at the Nott that don't make it there every week. So of course the night also ended up going right through kickout time via maccas before i got home (a fair bit later the normal, but it was a really good night).
This was a good ending to the night after finding out i had failed a group assignment which i am quiet annoyed at, but with the option to resubmit i think we will end up doing better.

Today i started work on redoing the assignment and will continue throughout the weekend before getting Rowan to go over it and pointing out what Ive missed. Although seeing the saints get up over the bombers was good but would have been better if i had decided to go in and watch the game in person instead i got to watch it on TV.

Week 6

So week 6, what happened this week, oh yeah that's right a lot of deadlines lined up to make my weekend and Monday very interesting. Well when it came down to it the weekend work wasn't rushed at all although i do believe some of the work i completed on Monday was very rushed (i gotta do something about my ability to procrastinate, i.e. stop it). But that was for other subjects, for IE Ben turned up with our very awesome business cards that I'm very happy with (especially considering how bad i am at all graphic work), Cladi did a great job with the designs we had to choose from. We wanted to have the business case organised by Tuesday and so this made Monday night to continue the theme of Monday which was working on assignments. In the end i finally had something that made a little sense and apparently wasnt that bad and with some direction i added a bit more and gave my section over to Cladi and Danny to fit into the business case proper.

Also I finally have succumed and signed up to facebook poker, it really does help waste time, although on the other hand it does not help during lectures when your trying to take others money with help from people sitting near you, it can get loud.

Oh yeah and on other subjects i think this would have had to have been y best week of programming i went to class with what i thought was 4/10 marks for last weeks work, but i found out i had 8/10 instead and that its due next week. woooo to easy week of programming this week.

Well thats this week covered, next week Dream Resolutions has a meeting at the clients premises and i am quiet looking forward to this. This will rovide a good insight into how the clients runs and how much our system should be able to help them out. After that i dont see a lot on next week which will be good after the stress of assignments earlier this week i need to relax next week.

Week 5

So back at uni after a week without classes. Its overall been a good week, i somehow managed to get my proramming on wednesday from a max of 2 marks up to 4 marks outta 5 in the hour before class when alll that time i thought i had no chance at all of getting anymore marks, that pretty much made my day. Althought this was on wednesday and there was a really massive windstorm that made the rest of the day very interesting, power going out at campus, traffic lights were out, but at home i didn't lose power at all (my pc was still on so i knew this). Through all this Ben Cladi Myself and Luke from Strike went out and found somewhere to do our buisness cards and after stopping by my place to edit our files and burn them to disc Ben Cladi and Luke headed off and ordered ours, luke said that the storms didn't really affect him getting back home even though th westgate was shut and some train lines were without any power.

So now onto some IE stuff. On tuesday we had our second client meeting which Ben Rowan and myself attended, along with 3 reps from the other 2 groups. This was quite a good meeting and i now have a very good idea of what is being asked of our group, im also even happier that we chose the system we did because one of the others is looking very complex right about now.

Oh well i need to finish this up and get to work on the assignments due monday, cause next week i hav 2 assignments due monday and one due tuesday and ive barely started any of them
